HTC EVO 4G LTE finally hits Sprint stores: $199.99 with new 2-year contract

Sprint’s HTC EVO 4G LTE is basically an HTC One X version, customized for the nation’s third largest carrier. The handset was supposed to be available in Sprint stores already, but the launch was delayed by the U.S. Customs, which held various HTC devices for quite a while in order to verify whether those devices were infringing a certain patent. While the EVO 4G LTE and his twin One X were cleared, American Android fans can only purchase the CDMA/LTE version, as there’s no release date yet for AT&T’s model.

Just as previously announced, the Sprint EVO 4G LTE can finally be purchased starting today and the device costs $199.99 with new 2-year contracts. Alternatively, you can purchase an unlocked unit for $549.99, if you don’t want to ink a new deal with the carrier, or you don’t qualify for the subsidized price.

The HTC EVO 4G LTE (HTC One X) is so far one of the flagship Android handsets of 2012, a device that has only one Android rival, the Galaxy S3. Here’s a quick reminder of the main specs and features of the EVO 4G LTE:
