Google’s famous voice search functionality already operates in 29 languages and is built into nearly every Android phone. Now another 13 have been added to that list, bringing the grand total to 42 languages and accents.
The new languages are:
- Slovak
- Swedish
- Romanian
- Norweigan
- Basque
- Bulgarian
- Finnish
- Galician
- Hungarian
- Catalan
- Icelandic
- European Portuguese
- Serbian
If you are a resident of these newly added countries and haven’t had the chance to experience a great piece of voice-search technology: grab your phone and give it a try. Remember that you need to be connected to the Internet for the app to even recognise your words before it searches them.
The update is being rolled out slowly but surely. Google promise a full rollout worldwide by next week.
